Hey everyone I am back with another recipe that I am confident that your body will thank me for once you start doing it regularly. I got a ton of emails about the “Move Your Ass” smoothie recipe that I did as the first recipe article for Power Nutritionist. I had lots of happy consumers and from that, they are bugging me to start giving out way more smoothie and shake ideas that they can incorporate into their daily plan.

Now there are tons of smoothie recipes out there but the difference is many of them are just made for soccer moms looking to drops a few pounds. Most likely that is not who is reading this article and with that in mind, I want to give you something that will be right up your alley. Most of those recipes lack the protein for muscle growth and recovery and while they do have a good health component, they are not created for elite athletes looking for that nutritional edge. Take a Break from Your Breakfast Grind

Ok, so you are probably wondering what I have in store for you today. Now with this recipe, I want to give you something that you can use any time of the day. But most likely smoothies are enjoyed by most in the morning. It could be because they are quick to prepare and for many time is of the essence early in the morning when trying to get ready for work. While for others that don’t have a ravenous appetite first thing in the morning, it helps them get in the nutrition they need without having to wolf down a huge plate of food. No matter what you fall in line with, I have the anabolic smoothie that is just right for you. So let’s take a look at what’s under the hood of this powerhouse start to your day!

Green Tea is the Perfect Smoothie Base!

Anabolic Strawnana Super Smoothie

4 oz Unsweetened Almond Milk
8 oz Organic Japanese Matcha Green Tea
1 cup Baby Spinach
1/2 cup Cilantro
1/2 cup Italian Parsley
2 Scoops Team Skip Vanilla Protein (True Nutrition)
1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
1 tablespoon Organic Virgin Coconut Oil
1 Banana
1 Cup Frozen Organic Strawberries
1/4 teaspoon Pink Himalayan Salt
Stevia to Taste

Dairy Farmer Gangsters Gone Wild!

Now as you can see this is one nutritional dense meal to get your day started in the right direction. Now I may get some flack about the almond milk but the reality is there are many that cannot consume dairy without some stomach issues. Others may find that it increase phlegm production too much as well sets them up for bronchial and sinus congestion. If you have access and it is legal where you live raw milk is another option.

One thing I have found funny is a video I saw where a raw milk farmer was raided by tactical officers carrying automatic weapons with all the intensity of a hardcore drug raid. If I didn’t know what it was about I would have thought they were raiding a crack house the way they threw him to the ground and muscled him like he was a hardcore gangster. Not really sure if all that force was justified for some 60-year-old dairy farmer but hey what do I know. Maybe he was packing some cold refreshing dairy treats up his sleeve where he could sell to unsuspecting children in the local schoolyard.

You all know that I love green tea and what self respectable smoothie would be without it. Once again get yourself a good organic green tea to help set up a nice alkalizing, rich in the antioxidant base for the rest of your smoothie. Now to green this smoothie in the right direction, I added in baby spinach, parsley and cilantro. Not only do they provide a slew of health benefits, but they add some nice flavor to this drink as well. Since most strength athletes do not get in enough greens, this mix will provide a full 2 cups of dense nutritional greens that will help alkalize your body nicely.

Perfect Protein for All Your Needs

Now for the protein source, I like to add True Nutrition’s Team Skip blend. This is an amazing mix of whey isolate, egg white, and Micellar casein. Those are three of my favorite protein sources all in a balanced ratio to provide a fast, medium, and slow-releasing protein source into your bloodstream. This is perfect to shut down the catabolism of your nightly fast and to provide a nice pulse of amino acids into your system for the next 6 plus hours.

Don’t Forget the Bells and Whistles

I added the vanilla extract to add that nice zing that will really make a nice difference when it hits your palate. If you have read my columns before you know I am a big fan of organic virgin coconut oil. It provides an amazing MCT saturated fat source that many of you are not getting enough of. Plus it helps emulsify all the ingredients in the recipe nicely so it comes out rich and smooth. For fruits, I added in a banana and some organic strawberries. I am sure just about everyone reading this loves strawberry and banana mixed together. Then I added in some pink Himalayan salt to help bring out the flavor and provide you with a nice spectrum of electrolytes. Lastly, you can use a sweetener like stevia if you feel you need to add that little bit of sweetness.
